Pompey Supporters’ Trust have promised youth cup finals will be held at Fratton Park if they complete their takeover.

The Trust have stepped in and made the pledge after the uncertainty around the club’s future had led both the Portsmouth Schools FA and the Portsmouth FA to consider using alternative venues.

Pompey opted out of pencilling in dates for the schools’ cup finals as they wait for their future to become clearer.

But the Trust have assured the region’s budding young footballers that Fratton Park will be used to stage finals when they take over the club in April, provided the court hearing on April 10 or 11 gives administrator PKF permission to complete the deal.

Trust spokesman Colin Farmery said: ‘We have had positive conversations with representatives from both the Portsmouth Schools FA and Portsmouth FA.

‘They understand the situation the club is in at the moment, which means it can’t commit to the bookings at present.

‘But we have given them assurances Fratton Park will be available at the end of the season should they require it, provided our takeover goes through.

‘Some dates have been pencilled in the week after the end of the season.

‘And we are waiting to hear back from the leagues to see what they would like to do.’
