PUNTERS with Cheltenham Festival withdrawal symptoms can get another fix of jump racing at Fontwell Park on Tuesday (March 26).

The track stages a seven-race card starting at 2.10pm and ending three hours later and many of the jockeys and trainers who were at the centre of things at the festival last week will be present.

It marks the start of a busy time for the racecourse - it’s the first of eight meetings due to be held between now and the end of May.

April sees an Easter holiday raceday on Thursday, April 11, when there’ll be a range of entertainment aimedat children, and another afternoon card on Friday 19.

May kicks off with an Abba Racenight on Friday 3, when Abba Magic will entertain the crowd after racing, and continues with back-to-back meetings on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16.

The first of those meetings will raise money for the British Heart Foundation while the second will feature the Hunter Chase, a popular race transferred to Fontwell this year after the closure of Folkestone racecourse.

On Sunday, May 26, the track expects one of its biggest crowds of the year with a bank-holiday family race day, while the month ends with another afternoon meeting - on Wednesday 29 - that coincides with a school holiday.

After that there’s just one meeting in June - on Tuesday 11 - before the summer break.

Advance tickets for next Tuesday are available from £11. Go to www.fontwellpark.co.uk or call 01243 543335 for details.
