SIXTEEN players took to the oche for the Friday Benevolent League secretaries knockout.
The first semi-final saw a Prince Of Wales clash as Bob Twaites was knocked out by Sam Abrehart.
The second semi-final saw a Chichester Snooker Club win by Nathan Warren over Arthur Clark.
The final was a repeat of last year’s quarter-final, with Abrehart up for revenge. It was a close game as Abrehart missed some chances, but Warren took two winning legs to take his second title in two years.
The captains’ knockout saw 14 of the possible 21 captains turn up to compete.
The first semi-final saw Richmond Royals’ Mark Todd beaten by Wheatsheaf Richard Ragless, who hit a 152 out on the way to the win. The second semi saw another Chichester Snooker Club battle as Adi Linfield beat Hayley Gatford.
The final was going to be close, with Ragless currently number one in the division one averages, and Linfield currently number four in the division two averages.
The first leg saw Linfield take the early lead. In the second leg after throwing just right with his first two darts, he hit the bullseye with his third for a 122 finish to win the final 2-0 and take the title.
Next week’s knockouts – the divisional pairs – take place at the Newtown Social Club. Registration finishes at 8.15pm.
