BOSHAM’S Co-op has donated £5,000 each to two charities.
Staff chose Cobnor Activities Centre Trust and Bosham Monday Club as the recipient charities of its latest Community Support Card (CSC) scheme.
The Southern Co-operative’s CSC scheme enables local communities to raise funds by presenting a green CSC card, which are issued free by the participating store, every time they purchase goods in-store.
Every time the green card is swiped, The Southern Co-operative (TSC) contributes to the fund; there is no cost to the customer.
Centre manager of Cobnor Activities Centre Trust Mark Murray-Brown enthused: “We were very pleased the Southern Co-operative chose us to be recipients of the £5,000 and honoured that local people chose to support the centre’s fundraising campaign.
“We’ll be using the money to refurbish the centre’s 25-year-old kitchen which serves many hundreds of children.
“This will make service much quicker and meet today’s hygiene standards.”
The centre provides activities including sailing, kayaking, rock climbing and mountain biking, with an estimated 30,000 sessions for the community each year.
The Bosham Delling Lane store has now launched its 2013 Community Support Card scheme, with up to £10,000 available again.
The store’s retail business manager Paul Richards said: “We’re now inviting applications from local charities and organisations for the new community support card scheme.”
To make a bid for this, simply visit the Delling Lane store and complete an application form.”
