A SELSEY performer has been found guilty of assault.
Chichester Magistrates Court heard the attack happened at the Neptune pub in Selsey on February 11.
Gavin Jazieno Pele, 28, from Selsey who was performing that night and was not present at the trial, approached two male friends who were having a drink.
The trial, held on Tuesday, heard Pele approached the pair before saying one of the men was disrespecting his friend’s girlfriend.
The trial heard Pele punched one of the men in the side of his head.
The man fell to the floor, before Pele proceeded to grab his leg and continue to repeatedly punch him in the side of his head a number of times. The man was left unconscious after he was punched on the first occasion.
The witness suffered bruising, numbness and swelling to his left cheek, as well as bruising and swelling to his right eyebrow.
Pele was found guilty and will be sentenced at a later date.
