Birthday wishes have been bestowed on a woman who has celebrated her 104th birthday.
Phyliss Bovington was surrounded by her family and friends to mark her birthday.
The celebrations took place in Pagham Cricket Club’s main hall, with Phyliss’ friends and family marking the occasion with flowers and a birthday cake among other gifts.
Among those who came to celebrate on Thursday, August 30 were Phyliss’ cousins, friends from the community bus and members of the Chestnut Club, which Phyliss regularly attends.
“It was a lovely day. Everybody wanted to do it for her because she is such an outstanding lady,” said Pauline Tester, scheme manager at Oakland Court in Pagham.
“She’s a wonderful lady and we all love her. I learn something new from her every day. Phyliss told me her secret is cod liver oil and a keen sense of humour. Thank you to everybody for helping on the day.”
