A bathtub race will run on Sunday (August 19) as part of Arundel Festival.
To compete, your craft must be based on a household bath and additions are allowed, as long as they do not come from a purpose-built marine craft and propulsion is manual.
Every competitor gets a medal, and there are prizes for first metal bath home and first plastic, best fancy dress, best designed, first ladies’ team, oversize, and a wooden spoon for the last past the finish line.
Last year 33 teams, and 118 competitors set sail, with a similar number or more expected this year.
The event will start and finish at the Waterside Tea Garden and Bistro, where there will be a bouncy castle, children’s craft area and face painting, craft stalls, a DJ, birds of prey, live music, river bank bar and BBQ, and hot-air balloon flights.
The day is in aid of the Chestnut Tree House childrens hospice and starts at 2pm. For more details visit www.arundelbathrace.co.uk
